Born in Beirut in 1980, Hisham Jaber has a diploma in dramatic arts from the Lebanese university of fine arts. He wrote and directed 4 plays "Cola, Barbir, Mathaf, Dawra" in 2002, "Solo or Solo" in 2003, "Arabic bread" and "the death of Najib Brax" in 2005. He wrote and directed as well a short movie "a hit" in 2002, and made 3 videos "live", "Braking news" (participated in : in focus (Tate gallery), Tribeca film festival (new York), Arab café (Spain) and "from the beginning". He wrote and published a short story "a shitty love story".
Born in 1979 in Lebanon, Rania Rafei has a diploma in audio visual and cinema studies from the Lebanese academy of fine arts (ALBA).she wrote and directed short movies "Harissa Texas" in 2004, "the dish" and "Manchette" in 2005. She made four videos "smoking kills"," minimum precautions", "the four seasons: summer 2006" and "Brain cells" in 2006-2007. She exposed an installation "pleurnication" in the exposition "Bordure, Brodure" with the Parisian "Programme de la Seine" in 2005, and in 2006, she exposed an interactive multimedia installation "the light traveler" in France in the "Arborescence" Festival. She directed a documentary for Al Jazira kids in 2008.
Tarek Atoui is a musician, a curator and a computer programmer born in Lebanon in 1980. In 1998, he got a scholarship from the French Government and moved to France where he studied contemporary and electro-acoustic music along with cultural management.
In Paris, he worked with several studios of research and composition such as IRCAM and Puce Muse, and since 2004, he started to return to Lebanon and the Middle East where he initiated and curated several types of multidisciplinary events and workshops.
Musician of the renowned Staalplaat label, he is currently the co- artistic director of the STEIM studios in Amsterdam and works as an artist and a curator with the European Cultural Foundation and the Sharjah Biennial on projects taking place in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and the UAE.
Born in Beirut in 1977, and raised in the port town of Jbeil. Vartan Avakian sprung from his father's mechanics shop to the Lebanese American University as a junior in Industrial engineering, to finally major in Communication Arts. He has since been working as a video editor and designer for the stage. His work features hybrid machines and installations in various media, including:
- Zaman il Abtal (The Era of Heroes): An interactive installation; consisting of a pinball game that takes place during the transitory period of wartime and postwar Lebanon.Born in Beirut in 1979, Samer graduated in cinematographic studies from Université Saint-Joseph in 2004. He directed one short-movie "فليبق كلّ في مكانه" (“Everybody Stand Still”) in 2004. Samer is also a light designer and has worked as such in many theatrical plays, television productions for Future Television and live concerts for Music Hall, Liban Jazz and others.
Avak Avakian was born in Byblos in 1979. He is a graphic designer and a technical dirctor. He has worked on many theatrical productions as well as installations, including, Zaman il Abtal (installation by Vartan Avakian), Arabic Bread (directed by Hisham Jaber), Talk to Me Like thebRain (directed by Tamara Stepanyan), La Valise (directed by Farah Nehme), Solo (directed by Hisham Jaber) and Abort?Retry?Fail? (dircted by Vartan Avakian). He has also worked as a key grip on short films.
